...the Frogs lost 13-10 on the road at Rice Eccles despite dominating the game. They held Utah to 45 yds rushing and 1.8 ypc, gained over 400 yds total offense to 275 for Utah yet the Utes did a good job in red zone defense and kept them out of the end zone. TCU’s freshman FG kicker missed a couple of easy FG’s in the 4th Q (one hit the upright). With a minute to go or so BJ led Utah on an 80 yd drive to put them up 13-10 (guy was clutch) and then Ute defenders picked off an Andy Dalton pass to seal it.

At the time Utah was ranked just ahead of TCU in the polls and a TCU win would’ve put them ahead of Utah in the rankings for a BCS invite and likely slotted Utah in the Poinsettia Bowl vs Boise St (instead of TCU). In Utah’s come-from-behind victory and game winning drive BJ had a 4th and 5 in TCU red zone and hit Freddy Brown for 11 yds to continue the drive. My change would be to have that 4th down pass fall incomplete and the drive end on downs. TCU could then just run the clock out to preserve the 10-6 win and send Utah to the Poinsettia Bowl instead of the Sugar Bowl.
