If BYU wins enough that BYU will be a national story regardless of where they play (see North Dakota State who has hosted College Gameday more recently than BYU).

I just don't believe that our current independent schedules are set up for much better than 7-5, 8-4 seasons in a good year and most seasons will see BYU fighting for six wins and a low tier pre-Christmas bowl game.

The current string of exhibition games and blow out losses just aren't that much fun for me. I'd much rather go back to fighting for a conference title, especially with the added benefit of a possible NY6 bowl (which used to be the big prize we were hoping for from 1996 - 2010).
