They didn't want the perception that they were being left behind in the MWC so they decided to give Independence a try in hopes that another league would pick them up or that they could make it work.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked, BYU hasn't remotely kept up with the Utes (I don't even remember how many times we've lost in a row now), and it's time to try something else.
