But it really wasn’t dumb, it was a lot of fun building them and working on them for months prior along with testing them at the local pool multiple times. But that was the 80’s and we did a lot of outdoor things and our parents didn’t worry as much if we did hard things. We all had lifejackets and swimming merit badge and lifesaving so not that we were experts by any stretch but we weren’t lacking experience on the water. Serious so much fun.
