It’s not dumb to do hard things. It’s dumb to go nearly 70 miles in canoes made by teenagers on fast water
Most of us have done plenty of hard things. Even dangerous things. Rappelling steep cliffs comes to mind but we didn’t do it with rope we each made ourselves.

It just seems foolish to have a teenager build a canoe and attempt to go 70 miles on a fast river.

At least you tested yours and made it out of solid materials. I get where it would be a great memory for you but even you can admit it’s not a very smart way to go about something like that.
