Yeah, you can build fiberglass canoes that will last a long time. Every ward has a guy with the skills, budgeting
is an issue, which is likely why they went with the plastic wrap. The right kind of wrap with epoxy could last a while as a recreational floating device too.
The issue was a 5-day river trip. That's a head scratcher.
