o-lineman (either Hoge, Empey or Christiansen) drafted since 2005 (Scott Young). That stat alone is very telling of our win loss record the past 14 years. In that same stretch Utah has drafted 10, Boise State 6, and Utah State 1. That's a huge reason why we are not beating our rivals as consistently as we were in the 80's and 90's.

Same can be said of the d-line. Tonga will likely be our third NFL drafted d-lineman since 2005. Ziggy and Bronson were the other two. Utah has had 6 in that time, Boise State has had 4.

We have been woefully undermatched in the trenches. It makes me ill thinking of all those close losses to Utah and Boise State that wouldn't have happened if Bronco would have recruited the trenches better. The future at BYU is bright. This is the year they need to step up and start winning with the talent we've brought in.
