Proliferation of high speed internet enabled streaming to thrive. But it's not like there were major disruptors to other parts of the industry. Production costs haven't plummeted. Actors haven't willingly accepted lower wages to make things cheaper for us. If a la carte was economically viable, we would have seen cable and satellite companies try it decades ago.
