Is years of actual experience or snap judgments on limited info more “clouded?”
How much time do you spend in the Garden District, World War II museum, Audubon Park, The Warehouse District Magazine Street...where did you eat? I’m sure you hit The Quarter—where’d you spend time? Walking along the banks of the Mississippi, Jackson Square, and grabbing a beignet at Cafe DuMonde really turned you off?
If you took in these things and didn’t like the city, that’s more of an informed perspective. It does not particularly sound like that’s what you did. If true, you’ve shortchanged a great place without experiencing or understanding it at all
