How much do you love the breed vs the individual dog (i.e. your pit bull)?

If a pit bull ban was enacted, would you be so heartbroken that you'd never own another dog?

In our case, we had our lab for 16 years. He was awesome and I swore I'd always have a lab. Two years after we had him put down, and when we were ready for another dog, we researched other breeds and landed on the whippet. We love the breed so much, we adopted another one 3 years later. Now I really like both breeds, but if a ban were enacted on either labs or whippets, I think we'd just find a different breed that we like.
