Well you are comparing 4 adult books vs a young adult fantasy book.
The Hobbit is a fantastic story and one which I have read to my kids and will read again.
The Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion are way above the target audience for The Hobbit.
And LotR > Silmarillion anyway.
