Is Trump in his official role no longer the government, then?
That's a silly idea. The fact that the Chinese did something worse doesn't mean what Trump did is magically not the government getting involved.
He complained about the issue multiple times in public, and they had the Mike Pence snowflake shenanigans.
Calling the Kaep situation just "public backlash" is revisionist history. Dismissing what Trump did in getting the government involved because the Chinese are worse is similarly short-sighted.
Folks that didn't condemn the US government look like hypocrites for suddenly caring about it now.
