No, those are laws and way college/ncaa operate.
Manager get paid more than line level employees. That is just the way of things, no way getting around it and that isn't a credibility issue.
But a manager over his employees should be leading from the front; in to work early, not the first to leave, always working efficiently, dressed professionally, unbiased in how they lead and manage, etc.

When it comes to HC, 18 year olds, and sports...they need a leader who is and has been in the trenches with them.
