but I do think it is excessive and overbearing. I also think many of the mods think they can discern intent when they honestly couldn’t be more wrong.

In their defense it is sometimes hard to discern intent when something is written rather than spoken and you cannot see the expression and inflection that accompanies it.

My biggest complaint is that in appeals they don’t accept explanations on intent, they simply dig in and then follow each other like sheep. If a poster files and appeal and gives a reasonable explanation as to intent that is contrary to the moderators interpretation it should be given more weight, in fact of it is a reasonable explanation it should result in a reversal. But that doesn’t happen. The moderators will insist their interpretation is correct even when a very reasonable and plausible explanation is given. That is frustrating and leads to some hard feelings.
