Understanding, even basic information, of anything west of the Mississippi which always amazes me.
I had a co-worker who said she was going to fly to Wisconsin for the weekend and said she might check out Idaho while she is there. She has a PhD.
I had co-workers who argued Idaho and Utah are in the midwest. Which I wouldn't disagree if like you said above the term Midwest was accurate and applied to the actual middle west part of the country instead of applying to the middle East part of the country. Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, etc. Should not be grouped with Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, etc.
Many on here may even disagree but Idaho is in the Pacific Northwest. I have never met someone on the East coast that believes that.
