The Bronco years got us all accustomed to great defenses & meh offenses
So it’s more jarring to to have a really bad defense than it is a really bad offense. We seem to subconsciously accept that our offenses will struggle while our defenses are solid and win games for us.
In reality the two are equally bad at around 80-100 in the country this year, depending on the metric.

BTW, 29.7 ppg would have been 81st in the nation last year. So when saying "historically bad" that's a bit hyperbolic
