One thing many younger guys may not realize...
and I don't know if you are a younger or older guy as it relates to this board, but Lavell's defenses were very good back in the 70's and 80's. BYU put up points but they also didn't allow points and that gets overlooked.
I'm actually a very defensive minded coach, if a team can't score they can't beat you is how I see it, so to me the defense we are seeing right now is very disconcerting.

BTW, 29.7 ppg would have been 81st in the nation last year. So when saying "historically bad" that's a bit hyperbolic
