Utah, like 95% of teams in the country, is still outside of that club so they have more to prove than Alabama and Clemson. This is why it makes ZERO sense to me that Utah would drop BYU when they get a team like Florida. BYU hasn't been ranked in years so it seems you would rank BYU as a B game (if Florida is an A and MAC or Conf USA is C and FBS is D). Wouldn't you build a schedule with an A, B, and C/D game as your OOC schedule if you know you have to impress? Not to mention half of your games are on in the middle of the night on channels that only Larry Scott and his friends and family see.
I would also argue that Utah should promote the Holy War, especially with how dominant it has been. ESPN would promote that game and it gives Utah a chance to showcase itself during rivalry week. USC and Stanford have given the blueprints for how to do this in the Pac12.
I get that Utah has been trying to distance itself from BYU as it has been growing into a Pac12 contender, but seems like Utah is all grown up now. Time to embrace and promote the rivalry. Huntley and Moss blowing up a down Colorado game means less than Huntley and Moss blowing up a heated and historic rival.
Just my two cents. Its also fun to watch Utah make dumb decisions based on an inferiority complex that they can't seem to grow out of..
