Hopefully without a broken finger to drive the point home. I've set them many times, and never stopped wincing. The loud snap reminds you of what would happen if you let go of the spring mechanism at the wrong moment.

If you're dealing with an infestation, I find the live traps work well.

Rat....they’re smarter than field mice I think, they know they’ll die for sure
