having been a juror on a 15 count children molestation trial I disagree
Unless you have been in the room where all the evidence is laid bare, you have no idea how brutal that really is, it isn't like watching it on TV.
I had nightmares for a couple months after the trial, and during recesses, the women jurors would go into the bathrooms and just cry the entire recess after having to watch the rapes in videos and pictures and it went for 3 weeks. That was just the jurors being traumatized by the evidence.
The poor victims having to sit on the stand, having to identify themselves in the rape videos and pictures, and then be subjected to what you would expect any defense attorney to do which is try to inject possible doubt into the process "your face is never visible in the video, it only shows the stomach, legs and vagina, how can you be sure that is really you?"
Having sat through it, and only once mind you, I can totally see why that decision is such a difficult one.
