I think the miss for most is they think wanting more is a knock on the coach and A LOT of people really love and almost worship this coach. My take is supporting Kalani in a way would be asking for change. He has people on the staff that I really think hinder him and this team from maximizing what he does well.
This staff hasn't been good at recruiting and gets out-schemed in a lot of games. Some people will go as far as saying the FCS model that we've resorted to is preferred to getting heavily recruited kids. I think that model is great for getting DB's into the program, but shouldn't be the backbone of getting players into the program. You are still gonna have the kids who don't wanna be here or don't fit well, but you have to get 3-4 big names a year. If we made changes at certain spots on the staff, brought on stronger recruiters, coaches with experience in the scheme we run, and young up and comers as coaches and support staff, we could improve the things around Kalani and help the overall cause. When you bring anybody new in their are risks, but I think most open eyed fans could point to 3 or 4 things that could be done better that would at least be worth trying something new.
