I think this is probably true, and here’s why:
If they win out, that means Oregon loses, plus Utah would get a boost from beating a top 5 or 6 Oregon.

If tOSU and LSU both win out, that means both PennSt and UGA both lose.

That puts Utah in a three way race with Bama and OU. OU is currently two spots behind Utah, and they don’t have a top ten matchup left on their schedule. So really, should Utah win out, the battle is between them and Bama.


Bama still has a date at Auburn, a place where they have lost two of the last three times. And they don’t have Tua.


There are still other scenarios. An UGA upset of LSU would likely put both UGA and LSU into the CFP. I don’t think a PennSt upset of tOSU gets them both in, but maybe.


I think people are expecting Utah to lose to Oregon, and I don’t think that’s a given.
