when BYU was looking great but some fans said wait until they beat UNLV before we start talking. That was a place BYU never won in, so of course the implication was they'd lose, proving to them that BYU really wasn't that good. Instead BYU beat the snot out of them. So then the goalposts moved again and they said, wait to see if they beat SDSU before we deserve to be more excited. BYU won that one also and it turned out to be one of the most memorable games in BYU history.

In this case with USU, the fact is USU has always struggled with BYU away from their home court. If some fans want to wait to care or temper their own excitement, that's up to them. But there is also no reason for others not to enjoy every step of the ride. To this day I think it's a little sad a few of our fans essentially missed half of that amazing season because they didn't allow themselves to pay much attention until after the huge wins were in the bag.
