Post of the Year!
Thank you for the excellent research that went into this post!

I don't know why all of these players chose not to attend BYU, but BYU's failure to sign many of these athletes is EXACTLY the reason BYU has suffered the last decade. (Injuries to Taysom is the second most important reason for BYU's failures.) All other reasons discussed on this board for BYU's problems pale in comparison to this blindingly obvious fact.

In 2019 the Yewts have Bradlee Anae, Julian Blackmon, Francis Bernard, and Mika Tufua starting or playing key minutes for Utah. Every one of these kids would have been a difference maker on BYU's team. Bradlee Anae alone would have made an enormous positive impact for BYU.

In 2020, BYU will have a much more experienced team. IF, IF, IF, we can retain the current players and keep them healthy and eligible we will be a good team next year. We must have a great season to convince more of the top LDS kids to chose BYU.

P.S. Tayler Kotoa comes home from his mission in late March. He and his family are still firmly committed to So. Cal, but I urge Kalani to go try again to get this outstanding legacy kid to change his mind.
