I can see what you mean, but I think there is a question about what she agreed to have happen that could explain it. What is the help that we provide. What is the weapon/tool? Is it her child that ends up sick? Could it be that whatever happened to the space ships (they dissolve) impacts our planet and the daughter in such a way that it helps the aliens in the future, but also causes the child's death? If so, she may have caused her duagher's death to help the aliens. I can see Renner's character being furious about that. Why does he look at his daughter differently? Why does she make such a point to call her daughter "unstoppable" even though she dies and the disease is also unstoppable. Maybe that is the weapon the aliens need. These are rough thoughts, but I would like to rewatch the show keeping an eye out for support of such theories.
