Repost of 2019 BYU injuries compared to other teams

Rather than just relying on anecdotal claims, it's pretty easy to find injury lists for D1 football teams. This info is from USA Today's injury list. BYU's injury list is similar to a lot of teams (e.g. Notre Dame and Wisconsin). It's pretty easy to scream about the S&C program, but where is your evidence? I have no idea whether the current program is good or bad and it should definitely be evaluated continually, but to lay all the blame on them for injuries seems a bit hasty.

There may be some variance in how teams declare injuries, but this is what USA Today has listed. A lot of these teams had a lot more on the list listed as "Out Saturday" or "Questionable Saturday". Looking at this list, BYU is on the higher end of things, but is not an outlier by any means. With missions and guys trying to get back after 2 years off, I would expect BYU to be on the higher side.

BYU: 6 for season, 2 indefinitely
Utah: 1 for season, 1 indefinitely (maybe a key to their great season so far?)
Tennessee: 6 for season, 2 indefinitely
USC: 6 for season, 4 indefinitely
Washington: 2 for season, 3 indefinitely
Toledo: 1 for season
USF: 1 for season
Boise St: 3 for season, 1 indefinitely
Utah St: 2 for season, 1 indefinitely
Liberty: 3 for season
UMASS: none listed
SDSU: 1 for season, 1 indefinitely

Others:
Hawaii (likely bowl opponent): 1 indefinitely
UCLA (Wintrich is the S&C coach): 1 for season, 1 indefinitely
Virginia (Bronco and crew): 4 for season, 2 indefinitely
Clemson: 3 for season
Alabama: 4 for season, 1 indefinitely
LSU: 2 for season, 1 indefinitely
Ohio St.: 2 for season, 3 indefinitely
Oklahoma: 6 for season
