I don't like geneology in the pure form, but I love putting their stories
together. I just finished my Uncle who died in France on August 8, 1944. I traced his every day during the war. It was fascinating to see the world from the 18 year-old eyes. BTW- The day before he died he wrote the following letter to his mother.

"Here is my pay, please make sure you pay my tithing first. I pray 50 times a day that I will make it home. I am at least learning to pray. I am so close to the front, that I can hear the artillery flying over my head." He was killed about a mile south of Vire. I am pretty confident I know exactly where he was killed. I can't wait to go to France next year!

That part of family history is amazing to me!
