Below 13v with the car off is indicative of a dying battery.
5 years is a good life, so I’d say replace it before it strands you somewhere.

That would be my conclusion as well. How old is the battery - that is supposed to be a good one.

5 years. I wasn't excited to buy an Optima, but it was the best available at the time. I'm ordering an Odyssey next.

5 years is decent for a battery. I generally consider 7 years to be great. Time to buy the Odyssey.

Do you have to get an optima for a replacement?

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking. It's good to get a sanity check.

Yeah, the notes I had were (spec) resting: 12.6, running: 13.7-14.7

I did the deep clean already (like, REALLY clean). I thought about doing it again w/ white lithium grease, but @ 5 yrs,

I agree with this. Even though your battery is a "sealed" battery, it has a

If I throw on the Odyssey and get corrosion (then it's the alternator), the Odyssey wouldn't necessarily be damaged,

I wouldn't think so. So you can start with your Odyssey first. Assuming your terminal isn't corroded under

Just did my alternator replacement on an Odyssey, not bad (see video)

My car gets a lot of shock and vibration, so I get as durable as possible.

Also check the cable to see if corrosion is down the line as well.

1) That's just testing alternator output, not the diodes. 2) You should probably have the battery load-tested also.
