Car batteries have 6 cells. Each cell is a 2.2 volt cell. The voltage naturally bleeds off to 2.1 volts after resting for just a short period of time. 6 X 2.1 is 12.6.

1) That's just testing alternator output, not the diodes. 2) You should probably have the battery load-tested also.

I agree with your assessment. You shouldn't be getting corrosion buildup on a sealed battery.
