"nice" is pretty subjective.....I just opened up "Houston Real Estate" on
realtor.com and found what I would consider to be a pretty nice home - 3,025 sq ft in Houston. Compared to Salt Lake County, a similar would probably be $500-$750K for the same size:

Taxes in 2019 were just under $11,000, so about $950 per month. Utah property taxes probably about $2.5-$3K per year.

Now, here's a REALLY nice one, 9,344 sq ft, 1.54 acre lot:

2019 Taxes - $80K, so about $6,700 per month. A similarly-sized home in Salt Lake County might be around $1.5-2M, taxes about $1.2-1.5K per month.

For a Utahn, Texas property taxes are exorbitant. For a Texan, Utah income taxes are "State Income Tax? What is that?"
