That my going there would feel like a stepping stone to somewhere else bigger and better. KC--at least for me--feels like the kind of place where I'd go if I were settling into a position in my career where I didn't want/expect to advance any more. I'm not there yet, so despite the reasons why KC is better in a lot of metrics, I feel like I can always fall back on KC if I first go to SF, but I couldn't do the opposite.
