He was at the Fed in DC for 18 years, including being Director of International Finance for about his last 5 years or so (he was there in 2008 when the banking crisis hit). He was chief economist for Chase for a few years, then was Undersecretary of the Treasury, appointed by President Obama. Now he's the chief economist for Prudential. He's also currently serving as a stake president. Very smart guy, and really a good dude.
