Disoriented doesn’t just mean you don’t know where you are
It could mean you’re not even sure which way is up. In dense fog, you have to rely on your instruments to tell you that. The way your body feels is not a reliable indicator because the forces of acceleration are often greater than the force of gravity. You could literally be flying sideways and your body feels like it’s upright.
