Meh. First off you are talking about missing out on an LDS recruit and then
give multiple examples about how living an LDS lifestyle is too difficult. That doesn't match up.

For 90% of LDS recruits I don't believe the honor code is a hindrance and for more than half they would welcome it and see it as a positive.

For 90% of LDS recruits the social aspect is not a hindrance and for about 80% they would see it as a positive.

For 100% of LDS recruits the religious aspect is not a hindrance and would be a positive for 95%.

So you are down to academic standard, P-5 and a mediocre record.

I would best most could qualify academically. For many the better school academically would be a positive.

No P5 is bad but the best way to overcome is winning. Bottom line is BYU is simply not winning enough right now.

Biggest issue with missing out on this recruit? LDS or not he was a Utah fan growing up. Not every LDS kid dreams of playing for BYU and that is OK. It would have been an upset for BYU to get this kid regardless of everything else.
