The Notre Dame series was announced after BYU announced it was going Indy and on
the same day that the ESPN deal was announced. It was announced and promoted all together. It sure seemed like Notre Dame knew all about the ESPN deal and that was part of the reason they came on board.
But given the timing here I wonder if the deal really had an easy out for the last 4 games, but agreed to the deal and announcement in order to help BYU jump-start life as an independent and to help attract other opponents.
