I'm just curious why you're so adamant that they factor as much as you say.
How? Our 2016 class had players who graduated within two years, has players who are going to be seniors, and has players who are only freshmen.
Football is a team sport. Let's pick a number and say 44 players largely account for success. That's a full 2-deep on offense and defense. When players from the same class are anywhere from freshmen to years removed from college, I'm really confused HOW to quantify such a thing? Hardly any players from one single class are heavily participating all at the same time.

And nothing I've said so far includes all of the other factors. Coaching and schedules and all of that.

Let's lay it out to see the bigger picture. Say you have a starting star QB get hurt and a backup get hurt as well. Maybe you've got a few other injuries that hurt you one year.
Or maybe you have a really young OL.
You're going to take a random recruiting class that has guys on missions, already graduated, redshirting after just getting home, maybe a few sophs and juniors in there... And you're going to qualify their success by how many wins the TEAM has? How?

I just hate using team accomplishments to judge individuals. It's already bad in basketball, but it's horrible in football. Way too many moving parts and factors involved in wins and losses.

BTW, I agree maybe it's a little exaggerated. But it's not a huge stretch. They're clearly turning out far better than some awesomely horrible classes like 2013. But it all goes to show that you never really get a feel for a class for YEARS at BYU. It's just crazy. A lot of people don't realize how classes like 2013 and 2015 played a giant role in the success (or lack thereof) of BYU football just the last few years. People who say Bronco's classes didn't matter and the program was extremely healthy. It wasn't, and the 2015 class really screwed with BYU's future.
