It's more than just the WoW and partying.
Alcohol is one thing. It's wise to avoid alcohol for health and family reasons. But there are millions of people who drink alcohol responsibly and don't choose to put lives in danger while doing so. That goes much further than having a lack of understanding for the word of wisdom. I don't want to delve much further and throw stones though b/c this could be the first and last time that he makes a bad decision like that, and I'm sure those around him will help him recognize that.
