For the record, I don’t begrudge any dad for wanting to coach.
I tried to be very clear in the OP that my gripe was with a specific personality type who is always in charge, always the coach, never wrong, son is always the QB, pitcher short stop or point guard. This type always gives his kid the benefit of the doubt and puts his son in the best position to shine while disregarding the development and opportunities for the other kids.
