RE: Zach is the best QB on the roster — objective analysis reveals this
"Wilson combined for more big-time throws than Hall and Romney combined"
Wilson combined?? Combined with who for more big-time throws? Wilson should have more big time throws, he played way more games

... and despite two games to end the year with no touchdowns against four interceptions, was subjected to some bad interception luck. In fact, six of his nine interceptions this season were for reasons not of his own fault, including two passes in which he was hit as he threw
pretty lame analysis...2 passes in which he was hit as he passed, how likely was it that he held the ball too long on the play allowing the defense time to get to him? Pretty darn I'd say. If he's unlucky, how much of his unluckiness are a direct result of his poor decision-making and inability to make quick reads and get rid of it accurately and timely?

Receivers running the wrong routes, breaking the wrong way, WR fell down, through his hands, OL can't protect etc. It's funny how we don't hear those excuses when Romney or Hall were QBing.

I think there's a ton of doubt that he's the best QB on the roster. We watched a lot of that doubt come to the surface during the Boise St and Utah St games. I think he's undoubtedly the flashiest of the 3 which can fool people.

Remember, there's a reason the coaches chose Zach over Jaren and Baylor at the beginning of the year AND the end of the year (even after Romney's wins). Zach was still the best option to help us win. But he's gotta have guys to throw to and have some help from those around him.
yeah, Coaches chose Zach because he was in camp well before Hall and Romney and had a leg up on them. Coaches and some fans think Zach is flashy looking, like fools gold, or a fire red Pontiac Fiero. I get that, problem is it's easy to get past the flashiness, just get behind the wheel and go for a spin then you see all the problems that come with him. He's great between the 20's but struggles on 3rd down throws especially in the red zone. He's slow to get rid of the ball and his holding it too long allows defenders time to close on our WR's and it allows pass rushers time to get past our blockers and get to the QB.

Zach "was our best option to win" and he played poorly in both the SDSU game and the Hawaii game. That doesn't sound like my description of a "best option". He's gotta have guys to throw to and have some help yet those same guys looked great under the leadership of Romney. They had no problems getting open and getting yards after the catch because he got the ball out to them on time and throws an easy to catch and accurate ball. Our OL looked great blocking for Romney because he doesn't hold it forever and generally gets rid of it in under 3 seconds.

See, according to your narrative, Zach is the kind of QB that needs a LOT of players to make him look good. Romney is the kind of QB that makes EVERYONE around him look good. Kind of like John Beck did.

Romney surprised people in the Boise St game because he looked so smooth, fluid, calm and in control despite playing a top 25 team in his first start. Even the TV announcers were impressed with his smart play, quick decision making and timeliness and accuracy. Steve Young raved about Romney and said his talent is his ability to execute plays that the coaches call. Poo-poohers try to say Romney got a couple lucky trick plays and that's all but trick plays aren't easy to execute and have a degree of difficulty to them to "sell" the defense and catch them off guard.
