It was a crap throw high and behind the receiver.
Anyone who's actually tried to catch that pass in a game knows it's an extremely difficult catch. Everything from momentum to shoulder pads is working against success.
The bottom line is it was a garbage throw that isn't caught very often, even in the NFL.
