I heard that too. This is something like 2% projected. But in the cases that have had an outcome (recovered or died)
It’s currently 9% mortality. They must be assuming that most of the infected with mild symptoms will recover.

Just looked it up and 3.12% of all reported cases have ended in death with 2/3 of those infected not recovered/died yet. So the mortality rate, I would think, has to be higher than 3%. Unless they’re assuming that getting early intervention can drastically improve mortality which may be the case.
