You are not really losing visibility or changing your location. That way you and your wife can stand and cheer while you block or guard this elderly couple and allow them to sit.

It can't be all that fun being 90 and struggling to stand with a continued desire to support your alma mater.

So that's what I would do. I would explain to both of them that you are planning to stand and cheer throughout the game and that must be frustrating for them and because of that you are willing to offer up your seat so they can sit down and enjoy the game while you can stand up and cheer.
