A lot depends on the attitude of the person standing...
I'm old, too, although I can also stand and cheer. If the person in front is arrogant, disrespectful, or plain selfish, it makes the game a bad experience for me. If I'm told nicely, I might try to find another seat. At one of the bowl games in Las Vegas, the college student-age guy in front of me stood the entire game, blocking my vision - even though there was no cheering. I thought that was disrespectful and selfish of him and he was arrogant. We just left the game in the third quarter, went back to our rood and watched the game on TV. After all we're all on the same side for BYU.
