I’ve been sidelined without income for three weeks already.

My daughter and son-in-law just had to furlough all employees in their small business.

My son’s company has shut down and he’s out of work. Their revenue is barely 10% of what it normally would be. They’re running well below breakeven, even by laying off their workers.

Other son is laid off from his job.

Youngest daughter lost her job last Monday.

My wife is working only two days a week right now, probably not at all in a week or two.

Meanwhile the stock market is having the worst month since the Great Depression. I’ve stopped looking at my portfolio and retirement accounts.

I’m fortunate enough to have cash reserve to make it without income for a year or more but I know most people don’t have even a month’s worth of expenses in savings.

This is just asinine.
