I don't think that's correct. Basically, and I think we agree, we're only
testing people that are symptomatic. We can't draw ANY conclusions from the tests on the percentage of people in the population who have it (or have had it) and are not symptomatic. We just don't know. The current tests can't determine if you've had a mild case and recovered. Or even if you've had a more serious case and recovered. Once you've been exposed and recovered, you will test negative to the current test that everyone in the world is giving.

What is under research but not being used anywhere in the world yet is an antibody test. If we come up with one (there are laboratory trials of antibody tests underway now), then we can start gathering data on unsymtomatic persons who have been exposed to the virus.
