I don't envy them or despise them, but I just feel sad that they can make that kind of money and be hurting through this even with a drop from $300k down to $200k, that sucks but they are still better off than 90%+ of the US, sure they might have to make drastic lifestyle changes but maybe that will get them to rethink their priorities and from my point of view "out of control spending"

Well, it sure sounds like you’ve got some level of disdain for them.

And again, the idea that all these people should have tons of cash stocked away is crazy. Partly because some of those high-earners live in very expensive areas. Partly because some of them are new to their high-income and have lots of debt to show for it. And 100 other reasons.

So, you can sit back and think they don’t matter, but I’ll disagree with you.

And your overall tone with respect to people who (presumably) earn more than you smacks of pettiness and jealousy.
