Yeah, now that I've read the study, the overreaction on this board seems silly.
The 500k UK deaths were always the "do-nothing" scenario in the study. It's clearly labeled as such. Looks like maybe some people didn't understand this.
Part of the problem is the biased and crazily inaccurate "headline" in the first tweet that was linked on CB this morning. It got everyone jumping to conclusions, even normally cool-headed posters.
