Or you’ve fallen prey to a scam and they’re having you give them cash, but I really don’t see a scenario where hoarding cash makes much sense. If I grew up in the days of the depression and feared for banks failing maybe that might make me nervous but the protections are in place to prevent that. Also, this isn’t a financial institution issue like in 2008 I’m assuming that was one of the previous scary times OP mentioned.
