High school kids are a risk as their game has never been played at the college level. Transfers at least have played college ball and there are fewer unknowns.

But you can coach up high school kids, but, let’s be honest, very few coaches in today’s game stay for the full 5 years of a recruits college career. These kids don’t end up with years of consistent coaching, like they might get in high school.
