Your fatality rate is way off
1428 people in Utah have been diagnosed and 8 have died so that looks like a 0.56% death rate which would be nice.

However, of the 1428 people who have been diagnosed, a number of them will still die. 117 of them are currently hospitalized.

It might be more accurate to compare the current death number to the diagnosis number from at least a week ago.

compared to 7 days ago: 8/603 = 1.3% fatality rate
compared to 10 days ago: 8/348 = 2.3% fatality rate

The bottom line is: we don't have good data here and we won't have it for quite a while but disseminating bad, grossly underestimated fatality data is dangerous.
